Tiny School for 2025

The Tiny School of Art & Design to Bring Traveling Art Studio to Small Community Libraries and Events for Summer 2025

The Tiny School of Art & Design to Bring Traveling Art Studio to Small Community Libraries and Events for Summer 2025

[St. Cloud, MN] – This summer, The Tiny School of Art & Design (TSAD), a unique traveling art studio, will be visiting small community libraries and local events across the region. With a mission to inspire creativity and ignite a love for the arts in communities of all kinds, TSAD is ready to bring the art school experience to you—no matter your age, skill level, or background.

The Tiny School of Art & Design is a one-of-a-kind mobile studio that includes high-quality art tools and materials, offering an exciting opportunity for people to engage with a variety of artistic mediums. Teaching Artists travel with the portable art studio equipment, including special “drawing horses” that invite passersby to stop and participate, igniting curiosity and offering a place for creative expression. A unique throne is also available for participants to pose, encouraging individuals to join the fun as creators of all abilities explore their artistic potential.

Unlike traditional art workshops, TSAD’s approach isn’t about a strict “how to draw” format. Instead, teaching artists bring their knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm to help participants explore materials in a relaxed, open environment. Each session allows for quick introductions to various techniques with watercolor, painting, and more. Tables provide a place to dive into creative activities at your own pace. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. There’s enough room for up to 30 participants at any given time. They can stay for 20 minutes or 2 hours, because it is a rotating event allowing for many people to engage in the activities however they choose.

TSAD's services are also ideal for community grants and educational outreach, since they can customize the experience to fit the community that invites them. With a flexible setup, the traveling art studio can create endless possibilities, from intimate gatherings to larger community events.

While the trailer itself (9’w x 20'L, including hitch and ramp) is not open to the public, its close proximity to the activities ensures easy access for everyone. Tables and drawing horses are set up to create an inclusive and engaging environment, and the team is able to break down and set up the equipment quickly to accommodate event schedules.

For event organizers, special discounts are available if TSAD is the only activity scheduled for the event, providing an affordable option for bringing creativity to your community. Heijeu Arts, the nonprofit organization that houses the TSAD, is still taking reservations for Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2025.

Formerly Known As The Whit Gallery

From April of 2021, we started a new art space called the Whit Gallery, located in downtown St. Cloud. Being in Central Minnesota and during a pandemic served as the ultimate challenge and opportunity for big change in arts and culture experiences. This space provided creative and cultural refuge for all walks of life!

The Whit Gallery provided opportunities for artists and audiences to come together in a beautifully curated and welcoming space. The future of Heijeu Arts, even without the gallery space, will confidently facilitate highly intentional and magnificent arts events and activities.
